I cry with this song

I know a lot of people relate to this song due to depression, which was likely the intent after seeing the video, but I have a special affinity for this song for a more positive reason. I had a best friend for ten years before we had the biggest falling out of our friendship. For a year and a half, we did not speak. She walked back into my life, not knowing how I would receive her, and I sent her the lyrics to this song. I told her this described how I felt about her. Since that moment forward, we rekindled our friendship and we've been stronger and better than ever the past year and a half. This song to me is a beautiful beacon of our friendship. That girl is my sister, blood can be damned. I loved her then and I love her now. I truly don't know how. I'll never give up on the RIGHT people just because they've done a few things WRONG in life. Love you Jossa Boss. Always. She is so strong. I wish all of you her level of strength to get through this ride of life. ♡

I remember when i saw this video for the first time i cried like a little kid because i felt so seen and i had a longing for that from an eternity ❤❤ it has been a bit more than a year since this video was released but feels like so much time has passed and honestly I'm just grateful and proud that i was able to grow out of that state. Billie, I doubt you read these, but anyway, this song is what helped me get my life back together and realize I needed to quit wasting time and convince myself to leave a pointless relationship (even though that was painful) & go back to therapy. And the therapy has really helped. Music really is healing.

She’s not depressed! It’s called marketing strategy. You do see the pattern right? For every stereotype, they have an artist people can “relate” to. It’s fake! Her ghost writers just use words to create a story her fans will “resonate” with. They know what people want to hear, and they know what kind of audience Billie has. Mainstream music quite literally manipulates the mind so people become more invested in their music. And what do they get in return? More money, and popularity. I just don’t get how the majority of people seem to remain blind to these facts, and the fact that none of us, none of you, know who these celebrities really are! They want you to feel like you know them so you will care more. It’s ridiculous!

I’ve listened to this almost every single day multiple times a day since it dropped idk why it hits so hard

The day this video was released was the day my daughter was born. I’ll never forget it. Now we sing to it! This song and “Clover Cage - Learning To Love Myself” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. I just lost my best friend to depression a month ago today. Him and I were platonic soul mates. The way I'm mourning his death is much like a horrific break up and this music video/song resonates deep inside of me. Thank you, Billie, for always showing such vulnerability.

I lost my platonic best friend to an overdose the day before Thanksgiving two years ago. I can't listen to 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go' without getting literally suicidal, since I listened to the album on repeat for months before and months after his death. I got through the worst days of my life listening to that album. Truly bittersweet- I love that album SO much, but I can't listen to it anymore because it brings me back too hard to my best friend's death and the months afterwards. Now I listen to her first songs and this album. Every album is so different. I love you, Billy. And I love you, Greg. xoxoxo

It’s refreshing to see an artist who is actually trying to reach out with honesty and vulnerability. The world is messed up and people want to know that it’s okay to be lost and sad. The stigma around mental health is disappearing.

i get what youre saying and its definitely good but not really refreshing. its been the trend for the last few years im not saying billie herself but a lot of artists have been capitalizing on it regardless of whether they have any understanding or care about it as well. Overall good that it has been so heavily de-stigmatized

I'm actually bawling on my bathroom floor rn. She perfectly encapsulates what it's like to live life with the constant struggle of depression and never knowing if you are going to feel ok and just having to put on a mask for others and saying your fine but really you are not and your just praying and hoping that you can make it to the next day without completely falling apart. Thank you Billie! You are truly an amazing person and you are never alone.❤️

This video has perfectly summed my life up the past 9 months. The first time I heard and saw this video I was a mess. I've never had a song move me so emotionally like this as well as being to relate to it on every level. I love this girl and she has done so much for the lives of people. Her music is the most beautifully written music I've ever heard. To anyone going through this. You're not alone. You are loved. ❤

I feel like every song on the album deserves a Music video. The whole album is so visionary that it needs it scenes to be understood.. And this one was dircted and edited by Billie alone. And it can't be more special than that cuz we are getting the vision straight from the artist herself!

I interpret this song as that depression that one can live even if everyone thinks that it is fine. It is like the other side of the coin, we see someone pretend that something does not hurt and endure hundreds of things but we are never with that person when he comes home and is alone with his thoughts. I love Billie's videos and I feel a pretty strong connection to her. I wish you lots of strength to keep going

This is how I feel Exactly like her in the video.

I feel this in my bones...I worry about these feelings and it applies to so many sad personal situations. I am going through issues in my life and its not so much the words it's the emotions of the song. It's a feeling and sadness conveyed. I relate and I'm happy to feel that sadness for my loved one. This song makes me know I'm not alone. For that I'm grateful. ❤🙏

I'm not really a big Billie Eilish fan and I usually prefer electro music, but damn, it feels nice to hear such an accurate description of my feelings. It probably feels nice to her too to take such a big risk and write something so personal and know that she's not alone in her feelings...

The colors. the aesthetic. the cinematography. BILLIE MADE US FEEL THE EMOTION. SHE DID THAT.

I’m sorry for the spam in the comments that’s so annoying. But I feel the same way. I’m still in high school but I haven’t gone to school in months because of debilitating anxiety and depression. My moms never around so I typically have the whole house to myself for 12+ hours every single day. She fully encapsulated what my days look like to a T. Wonderful artistry and absolutely beautiful and relatable. I love Billie.

We've all felt the same things, just at different times and caused by different things.

This song encapsulates depression so perfectly, like its a sense of nothingness yet comforting nothingness that you cant seem to get out of. My mental state is plummeting and this song is helping me so much. Im so grateful for billie and how much she has helped me.

this is one of the most underrated billie eilish songs.

tbh the fact that this is showing how depression looks from a different perspective gets me because most people think its just crying alone but its not it effects people differently , i hope you guys who are fighting everyday with depression know that you are doing great and i hope you get to love yourself again over time and that its ok to deal with this because you are not alone .❤

The visuals in this video touch my soul. There are so many people that live with mental illness, anxiety, and depression and this video I feel like can potentially make those people feel they’re not alone… maybe a little more understood. Thank you for your beautiful art, Billie. You’re one of a kind.

This could not have been released at a more perfect time. I haven’t been to school in months because of my mental illnesses and I live only with my mom. She’s never around, always working or out doing some thing or another. I never really thought that someone could understand or accurately portray how I feel and what my days look like, but this is exactly that. Thank you billie.
